This Morning viewers had mixed reviews of Maura Higgins today, after she made her first straight-talking appearance on the show.
Her agony aunt segment saw her give relationship advice during her first day on the job.
Viewers rang in to the show in the hopes of Maura answering the phone to answer their qualms.
The Irish model told one caller to break up with her boyfriend, opening up about her own experience in a “routine” relationship.
“I was actually in your situation, I was in a nine-year relationship, and to be honest, you kind of just get stuck in a rut, it becomes a routine, and you’re just with that person, you end up becoming their friend…” she told the caller.
“You deserve better, you can’t go on like that.”
The segment received mixed reviews from viewers, with some questioning why Maura was qualified to give advice.
“Really, really don’t understand why ITV This Morning has a phone-in with Love Island’s Maura as the ‘expert’? I’m sure she’s a nice girl, but what makes her qualified to give relationship advice?” wrote one.
However, others felt that Maura was perfectly suited to the role.
“Watching Maura on This Morning makes me so happy,” tweeted a fan.
