Love Island’s Shaughna Phillips takes swipe at ‘creepy’ couples who’ve been on the show

Love Island’s Shaughna Phillips takes a swipe at the “creepy” couples on the show.

The reality star shot to fame on the Love Island Winter series in 2020, still being a huge fan – despite saying that she wouldn’t enter the villa again.

The mum-of-one confessed she believes there should be a minimum age to enter the show, insisting she “doesn’t like” when there are big age gaps in the show couples.

Although the 30-year-old didn’t name a specific couple, she told The Sun: “I don’t want to see a 29-year-old boy cracking on with a 19-year-old girl.”

“It’s creepy. I don’t like it and I don’t want to watch it. Maybe the [minimum age] needs to be upped to 21.”

Shaughna continued: “The All Stars series was incredible and I do think it was the CPR that the show needed.

“But I think they need to branch out and widen their pool a little bit because I’m 30 and I don’t want to watch 19-year-olds chatting each other up because, to me, they’ve not even lived yet – and a 19-year-old is still a child.”

“They need older people, maybe some who have kids. But when they’re really young, in my opinion, it’s boring. When I was on Love Island I was 25 and I was one of the oldest people, and that’s sad.”

Shaughna rose to fame on the winter series of Love Island in 2020 where she was coupled up with Callum Jones until Casa Amor where he returned recoupled with Molly Smith.

In April 2023, she announced the birth of her first child.

The Love Island star shared the exciting news on Instagram, writing: “My darling Lucia, I wish I had you sooner so I could love you longer ✨💗.”

“04/04/23. 8lb 8oz. 8:10pm.”

The mum-of-one faced criticism from fans after she posted a side-by-side photo of her weight loss.

Many people in the comments declared was due to taking Ozempic which when taken suppresses ones appetite, often leading to weight loss.

One follower insisted: “Of course it’s Ozempic. Awesome to finally find something that works. Just wish people on social media would be honest about it.”

Shaughna then replied: “I don’t take Ozempic but the only way I can prove that to you is probably a blood test, so I guess we’ll just have to leave it there lol.”

The reality star captioned the post, addressing the comments made about her weight accusing her of editing her photos: “So this has been happening… I’ll be honest even I’m shocked 😂”

“So glad I’ve been taking pictures because honestly, when I look in the mirror, I don’t see any difference, your mind is your biggest enemy sometimes!”

She continued: “And although being accused of editing your pictures when you actually haven’t is the biggest compliment EVER, I haven’t edited the pic on the right, so I thought I’d include the actual Live Photo just for any doubters ☺️”

“I’ve been trying for a while to get into a better place with my health, mental and physical, so I must admit I am feeling bloody proud of myself today.”

“I’ve spoken openly about struggling with my body image since I was a little girl (breaks my heart to even say that), so to be told I was seriously overweight at a doctors appointment wasn’t great.”

“This hasn’t been overnight, and I still have a way to go. The truth is, there has been weeks where I have found it so easy, and then there’s been months when I’ve seen no change, so I’m really trying to find what works for me, and I think I’m nearly there 🙏🏼”

She added: “Today definitely feels like a win. Although I only have one pair of jeans that fit me now so my bank card is taking it as a loss 😅”
