Scott van-der-Sluis has addressed speculation about his relationship with Paige Thorne.
Shortly after the former Shelbourne F.C. goalkeeper joined Love Island as a bombshell this summer, it was reported that the 22-year-old previously dated Paige – who appeared on the dating show last year.
A source told The UK Sun: “They met out on the party scene as Paige knows lots of footballers.”
“It didn’t end for any reason in particular, just one of those things. They were both young and not looking for anything serious,” the insider added.
Fans then began to speculate that Paige and Scott were once engaged, as Paige previously revealed the reason she signed up for Love Island was because her fiancé dumped her.
Scott took part in a Q&A on TikTok on Tuesday, during which he was asked by a fan: “Story time on your relationship with Paige?”
“So, story time. Em, so basically…”, the Welsh footballer teased, before saying: “You thought, you thought, you thought.”

While Paige remained tight-lipped about his and Paige’s relationship, she previously shut down speculation Scott is her ex-fiancé.
The Welsh paramedic also spoke about their relationship on a recent episode of the Not My Bagg podcast.
She said: “He’s not my ex ex, no. He’s not my ex, alright? That’s false narrative.”
“So what it was – it was quite a while ago, before I was in a serious relationship, me and Scott were – yeah, we were like dating.”
“Me and Scott knew each other three years ago now. It was like a talking stage for like three months. Back then, he will literally tell you, we would’ve been together, but he had to go away for football.”
The Welsh paramedic later revealed that she wasn’t surprised to see him on Love Island because they had “chatted” before he went into the villa.
