Love Island star Kady McDermott has FINALLY addresses rumours she has a “secret boyfriend”, and confirmed her split from Ouzy See.
After it was revealed she would be returning to the dating show as an ultimate bombshell this summer, The UK Sun reported that the 27-year-old was secretly dating Liam Greer.
A source told the publication that Kady and Liam even enjoyed a “farewell dinner” the night before she flew over to Mallorca.
Kady struck up a romance with Casa Amor star Ouzy while in the villa, and the pair have been interviewed on a number of podcasts since they were dumped from the show.
A host of Kady’s Love Island co-stars have hit out at her for comments she made about them while on the podcast – including Mitchel Taylor.
Speaking to On Demand Entertainment, he said: “You’re calling me and Ella B fake – you came in with a boyfriend. You have a boyfriend to this day. I’ve been told by the other girls, I’m not going to name names cause I’ll just take all of this, but you had your boyfriend’s bracelet on.”
“Your boyfriend was in your house whilst you were there, and you’re calling me fake? I got called fake by Kady, when Kady was doing the most.”
Referencing comments Kady made about Zachariah Noble during Sunday night’s Love Island reunion, he went on to say: “You say to Zach ’15 minutes of fame’, bro you had to come back on another season because you was becoming irrelevant. So don’t come at Zach because you sound like a donut.”
“You’re putting an act on to get your ’15 minutes of fame’. I wasn’t going to start doing these podcasts and going mad at Kady until Kady started going mad about me and everyone else, and that’s when I thought right I’m going to respond… Ouzy deserves better.”
Kady has since released a statement addressing the backlash she’s been receiving, and shutting down the “secret boyfriend” claims.
She wrote: “Although I have raised this before I feel I need to address this one more time, before I can finally put this to bed. I have always been clear that my views are my opinions of MY time in the villa, how I saw relationships, read situations and contestants behaviour.”
“During interviews since leaving the villa I have answered questions asked to me. Please remember interviews can be edited just like a TV show to draw in viewers with click bait snippets of much longer conversations.”
“I have apologised to those that have been upset to hear my opinions as this was never my intention, but since I have felt deliberately targeted by some of my fellow islanders. I have also been getting death threats since my podcasts which is not ok.”
She continued: “The narrative that is circulating that I had a boyfriend whilst in the Love Island villa is categorically FALSE. My mum stayed at mine whilst I was in the villa to look after my dog and house.”
“The media have been relentless with this narrative and it now appears others want to jump on the bandwagon too. Speaking opinions is one thing but making such bold statements with confidence is wrong. Not only are they false they can be very damaging.”
“Sadly late last night Ouzy’s behaviour and actions from the 30th July were bought to my attention.”
“Ouzy is one of the loveliest people I have met and I know he is remorseful but unfortunately actions have consquences and although we are not ‘official’ in our relationship status I am definitely not prepared to start a relationship off on this foot.
“I wish him nothing but happiness and success in his life. Thank you for the continued support by so many of you, I’d like to focus on the many positives and move on with my life now,” Kady concluded the post.
Kady first appeared on Love Island in 2016, and she made a surprise return to the show as a bombshell during the 2023 summer series.
