Love Island star Chris Taylor reveals how he landed a role in Barbie film

Chris Taylor has revealed how he landed a role in the Barbie film.

The 32-year-old confused fans at the London premiere of the film on Wednesday, as he was seen posing for photos with the entire cast.

While fans initially thought he was photobombing the star-studded cast, the reality star has since revealed he actually appears in the Barbie movie as a Ken – and had been keeping it secret for two years.

Speaking to LAD Bible, Chris revealed: “There is a bit of a backstory. The lads went to a premiere.”

“They met Margot [Robbie], and then afterwards Margot shouted them and said ‘Come to the after party!’, cause she’s obsessed with Love Island right.”

“So then, I was living with the boys at the time, so I was like ‘I’m coming’ and she knew who we all were. She watches the show.”

“So she comes up to me like ‘Chris!’ and I’m like ‘what the f**k is going on?’ I dunno, she must have just remembered me from then.”

The 32-year-old shot to fame on the 2019 series of Love Island, alongside the likes of Maura Higgins, Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury.

Chris went on to date Irish beauty Maura after the show, but they sadly split after just six months together.

The Barbie movie, which will be released in Irish cinemas on July 21st, stars Margot Robbie as the iconic doll, while Ryan Gosling plays her love interest Ken.

The satirical film will follow the titular character as she is expelled from Barbie Land for not being perfect enough, and sets off on an adventure in the real world.

The stellar cast also includes Nicola Coughlan, Dua Lipa, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, Emma Mackey, Ncuti Gatwa, Emerald Fennell, Alexandra Shipp, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Hari Nef, Ariana Greenblatt, Sharon Rooney, Scott Evans, Rhea Pearlman, and Will Ferrell.

Will Ferrell, who plays a Mattel CEO in the film, has already called the project “the ultimate example of high art and low art” and “an amazing comment on male patriarchy and women in society”.
