Line of Duty stars reunite for Vicky McClure’s star-studded wedding

A host of Line of Duty stars reunited for Vicky McClure’s star-studded wedding on Friday.

The actress married her longterm love Jonny Owen in her hometown of Nottingham, where they were serenaded by the Dementia Choir – a singing group she formed of people all living with dementia.

Sharing the first photos from their big day on Instagram, the newlywed wrote: “Tied up in Notts!!! 💚 Best. Day. Ever!!!!! @jonathanowen71 Xxxxxx.”

Vicky, who played Detective Sergeant Kate Fleming in the hit BBC drama Line Of Duty, was joined by her co-stars Martin Compston, Adrian Dunbar and Craig Parkinson at her wedding.

Other famous faces included TV presenter Paddy McGuinness and Everton manager Sean Dyche.

Martin shared some epic photos from the occasion on Instagram this morning, and wrote: “Incredible day in Notts celebrating the best of people @vicky.mcclure and @jonathanowen71 nuptials 🙌 .”

“First dance with the dementia choir was just beautiful and says everything about the two of them sharing their moment with the dementia team ❤️.”

“Few shandies were had afterwards 😁,” he added.

The photos showed Martin and his co-stars letting their hair down as they celebrated Vicky’s big day.

Vicky commented under the post: “Love you guys so bloody much!! 🍻💚 xxx.”

Their reunion comes following reports Adrian, Martin and Vicky will reprise their roles in Line of Duty for a three-part BBC special.

Line Of Duty’s sixth season aired between March and May in 2021, and over 12.8 million people tuned in to the finale.

However, many viewers were left disappointed with the final episode, after finally finding out the identity of the “fourth man”.

An insider has since told The Sun: “Viewers weren’t satisfied with the ending of series six and were crying out for a more sensational conclusion — now [writer] Jed [Mercurio] can deliver that.”

“The question is whether the person we were led to believe was H really is the villain that AC-12 has been hunting or if it was another nemesis.”

“The fact that they’re looking at taking the unusual step of making three episodes rather than the usual six or seven is a reflection of just how special this is for the show.”

Last year, Adrian Dunbar teased a seventh season on the award-winning police drama.

The Irish actor, who played Superintendent Ted Hastings in the BBC series, said the show could definitely return with a limited number of episodes.

“There’s a big appetite for more Line of Duty. It could be three or four episodes; I don’t think there’s going to be six, for some reason,” he told The Times.

“It might be two 90 minutes. But it’s all entirely down to Jed what the storyline is going to be. It’s a big ask for him.”

“It’s going to be really good. Maybe someone’s going to die. Someone’s going to be under threat,” he teased.

“He doesn’t mind killing characters off. Maybe he’ll kill us all off. A terrible car crash when we’re rushing to the scene of a crime? We’ll have to leave it to him.”
