Laura Woods left in ‘real fear’ by stalker who harassed her for two years

A female stalker has been jailed for harassing sports presenter Laura Woods.

Harneet Kaur has been sentenced to 14 months in prison, after sending the TV star threatening messages online and sending unwanted deliveries to her home.

The 25-year-old’s campaign against Laura began in June 2021, and lasted until September 2023.

According to her victim impact statement, the harassment ordeal had an “enormous and devastating” effect on the TNT Sports presenter.

The football fan, who went by the name ‘Krazy Harns’ online, started her harassment campaign against Laura in June 2021 when she sent doughnuts to her home via Just Eat.

Prosecutor Antonie Muller said Ms Woods was initially “pleasantly surprised and thought it was a mistake or somebody being nice,” but “did not realise this was to be the start of a campaign against her.”

The contact then “turned much darker” when she started receiving abusive messages online, including one which claimed she was a “former prostitute who slept herself into a job”.

Kaur was arrested on April 8, 2022 and had her iPad and phone seized, but she continued to leave nasty comments on Laura’s Wikipedia page, and sent her a voice note on Instagram.

She was arrested again in August 2022, but “it didn’t stop her”.

Kaur, who has autism, is already banned from Liverpool’s Anfield stadium for ticket touting.

In court, her barrister argued that she had a “severe degree of autism which debilitated all aspects of her life” and she wasn’t able to understand the impact of her harassment towards Ms Woods.

The defendant was slapped with a restraining order, banning her from contacting Ms Woods and from going within 500m of her home.
