Kate Garraway receives ‘unsettling post making demands’ after the death of husband Derek Draper

Kate Garraway has revealed she’s received “unsettling post making demands” following the death of her husband Derek Draper.

The Good Morning Britain star’s husband sadly died at the age of 56 back in January, following a long battle with Covid-19.

Almost three months after his passing, the presenter has been inundated with demanding letters from Haringey Council in north London, which her late husband “obviously can’t respond to”.

In a post shared on X, the TV star wrote: “@haringeycouncil -please help – have been trying for ten days sold [sic] to speak to someone about my husband passing away – following unsettling post making demands which obviously he can’t respond to.

“I just cannot get through. Again today nearly 50 mins wait…

“The man put me straight back to the beginning – another 20 mins and then it timed out as shuts at 5pm.

“Is there a beareavement service or SOMETHING!!!!,” she added.

Kate’s husband, political lobbyist Derek Draper, died in January following a long health battle caused by Covid-19 – which he contracted in March 2020.

The presenter has since revealed that she is facing up to £800,000 in debt due to the full-time care Derek required while he was ill.
