ITV presenter reveals he’s rejected an offer to appear on Strictly Come Dancing

Keith Lemon has revealed he’s rejected an offer to appear on the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Speaking to The UK Sun’s TV magazine, the ITV presenter said: “Every time I go to support a friend that’s doing it there will be a producer that creeps up at the side of me and says: ‘Do you fancy having a go?’ I have been asked for this series, but obviously I said no.”

“It’s too hard and I’m too old to do hard things, I just want to do easy things. I want to enjoy myself and have a lovely time, I know that’s having my cake and eating it but I’m old enough to have my cake and eat.”

“Strictly looks too hard and I wouldn’t want anyone to be affected by my beauty and fall victim to the curse and throwing themselves at me,” Keith continued.

It comes amid reports that Strictly bosses have signed the first ever Love Island contestant to compete on the show – Zara McDermott.

“Zara is the perfect signing for Strictly, not only is she beautiful and glamorous but she is hardworking and will take being on the show very seriously.”

“She’s absolutely loved the experience of documentary making and is over the moon to further her relationship with the BBC by signing up to Strictly. It is a dream come true for her and becoming the first former Love Island star to do so is the icing on the cake.”

According to The Daily Mail, Irish presenter Angela Scanlon is also among the celebrities who have signed up to appear on the 21st season of the BBC show.

A source said: “It is hard to get the mix right for Strictly every year but producers think that Angela is perfect for it.”

“She is really popular with the BBC’s viewers but unlike so many celebrities she doesn’t have a dancing background so Strictly fans will be able to go on a really enjoyable journey with her.”

“Every year the producers like to have a glamourous yet wholesome TV presenter as the fans love them.”
