Hugh Grant and wife Anna Eberstein’s incredible act of kindness revealed by plumber

Hugh Grant and his wife Anna Eberstein’s incredible act of kindness has been revealed by plumber James Anderson on social media.

The couple donated a whopping £20,000 to Anderson’s charity, DEPHER, which stands for Disabled and Elderly, Plumbing and Heating Emergency Response.

The 55-year-old plumber from Burnley, Lancashire, took to X with the couple’s permission, to share the “wonderful Christmas gift”.

James revealed how he spoke privately to Hugh, 63, and Anna, 40, about their generous donation, and they gave him permission to share the story.

Speaking about their generosity, the plumber said: “This wonderful and humbling donation of £20,000.00 will give hope to thousands of people, families and children, especially with the #CostOfLivingCrisis.

“They both have my lifetime of respect and love ❤️.”

Fans of the couple have since taken to X to share their thoughts on their wonderful gift.

One user wrote: “That’s the nicest thing I’ve seen/ heard all month!! Even more full of admiration for Depher, Hugh and Anna Grant.”

Meanwhile, another commented: “As if you couldn’t love Hugh Grant enough!! £10,000 Christmas present from Hugh Grant to Depher.”

James first found fame on social media for fixing pipes and boilers for elderly and disabled people free of charge.

He set up DEPHER in 2017, a UK-based social enterprise which provides free or heavily subsidised emergency plumbing and heating services to vulnerable older and disabled people.

So far, the not-for-profit company has supported over 17,000 people.
