Gordon Ramsay slammed for acting ‘inappropriate’ towards Sofia Vergara in resurfaced interview

The celebrity chef has been criticised for his behaviour

Gordon Ramsay has been slammed by fans for acting “inappropriate” towards Sofia Vergara in a resurfaced interview.

Back in 2010, the celebrity chef appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno alongside the Modern Family star.

Almost a decade later, a clip from the interview has gone viral online – for all the wrong reasons.

In the clip, the actress asks Jay and Gordon, “Did I scare you guys?” referring to her screaming in the previous skit. “I never scream like that in real life. It was all acting.”

Gordon then replied, “Only in the bedroom?” as he touched her arm, and Sofia made a face.

Later in the interview, they showed photos of Sofia on holiday, and one snap showed her eating pizza.

When that photo was shown, Gordon exclaimed, “You seem like you’re enjoying that. You had a whole wedge in your mouth at one time?”

Appearing fed up by his comments, Sofia replied, “Yes, yes, yes,” as she threw her hands up in the air in frustration.

The celeb chef continued, “You haven’t heard of a knife and fork? You don’t eat pizza with a knife and a fork,” before adding, “You just pick it up and stick it in.”

Gordon also criticised Sofia over a Colombian dessert she brought to the show, and after a bit of back and forth, he leaned over to playfully hit the side of her thigh, and she responded by shouting, “No touching!”

The resurfaced clip has received a lot of negative attention online, as many have slammed him for allegedly making Sofia feel “uncomfortable”.

One person tweeted, “Sofia Vergara should have smacked @GordonRamsay’s face & had him charged with sexual harassment & sexual assault. What an entitled, toxic, chauvinist. Did Jay Leno say ANYTHING to him about this?”

Another commented, “This is awful behaviour and shame on a Jay Leno for not stepping in as well.”

However, some fans were quick to defend the 52-year-old by claiming his behaviour was “quite obviously banter”.
