Gemma Collins ‘wired up to a heart monitor’ before Dancing on Ice fall

Gemma Collins was reportedly “wired up to a heart monitor” before her Dancing on Ice fall.

The reality star fell face-first during Sunday night’s performance, but quickly got back on her skates and continued the routine.

The 37-year-old took to Instagram yesterday to say that she felt “devastated & embarrassed” but knew that she had to get back up and “carry on”.

A source has since told The Sun that the TOWIE star thinks she may have “blacked out” on the ice, as her performance came shortly after she was “wired up to a heart monitor.”

“She believes she blacked out while she was skating, which is what caused her to crash into the ice,” the source continued.

“She didn’t know what had happened when she got back up — her blood sugars were low and she didn’t feel right.”

“Yesterday she was being wheeled about in her mum’s wheelchair but still made a commitment to visit a children’s hospital because she didn’t want to let anyone down,” they added.

Gemma has made it clear that she doesn’t plan on giving up on the show, as the source added: “She is determined to make the show on Sunday despite the injury and is telling her friends, ‘I ain’t giving up’.”

Gemma’s boyfriend, James Argent, told fans that he feared “she might be unconscious or lost some teeth” after the fall, but expressed his pride for the 37-year-old when she got back up to continue the performance.
