Ellie Goulding’s husband Caspar Jopling has broken his silence, amid reports the couple are “spending time apart”.
According to The UK Sun, the singer and her art dealer partner’s marriage has suffered due to their hectic schedules, but they remain close for the sake of their son Arthur.
A source told the publication: “There have been ups and downs for a while, but they have always strongly felt they wanted to stay together so they could both be with their son.”
“In the end they’ve tried to find a compromise where they continue to share lots of time together for their son Arthur, but outside of that sometimes live separate lives for now.”
“There is no discussion of a divorce and neither of them have been in a new relationship – the priority is to keep good friends and remain amicable whilst they work out their next steps, so they can stay close and enjoy being mum and dad to Arthur.”
“There will always be a lot of love between them despite some difficult times, and they want the best for each other,” the insider added.
Ellie and Caspar had been dating since 2017, and they tied the knot two years later after a 12 month engagement.
The couple welcomed their first child together, a son named Arthur, in 2021.
Amid the speculation, Caspar took to Instagram on Monday to share two photos of his wife in an art gallery.
One snap sees Ellie pose in front of a painting, and another sees her standing by a neon sign that reads: “Life without you Never.”
The post was a tribute to the artist Tracey Emin, with Caspar writing: “Happy 60th birthday to the GREAT Tracey Emin!! Here are some of the various moments I’ve spent in the presence of Tracey or Tracey’s art.. over the last decade !”
