Coleen Rooney ‘set to sign £1m deal’ to film explosive documentary about Wagatha Christie scandal

Coleen Rooney is reportedly set to sign a £1million deal to film an explosive documentary about the Wagatha Christie scandal.

The 35-year-old is currently being sued for libel by fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy, after she publicly accused her of leaking stories to the press in 2019.

A friend of Coleen told the UK Mirror: “Coleen has remained quiet ever since that famous online post. But this could all change in what could be the TV event of the year.”

“Viewers would see all the evidence that Coleen has forensically gathered via her online sleuthing and see why she is convinced that Rebekah leaked the stories about her and others,” the insider said.

“She is minded to get it all out into the pubic domain and let people make their own minds up. Talks are very well advanced.”

The friend continued: “Coleen is thinking long and hard about her next steps and the time could be right to stick her head above the parapet.”

“She feels she has a very strong case and wants to share it with the world.”

“There is no doubt that Coleen is upping the stakes and then some, and it will be interesting to see how Rebekah reacts.”

“But Coleen is on a mission and is passionate about what she believes in,” the insider added.

It’s understood Lorton Entertainment, which made her husband Wayne’s upcoming documentary Rooney, are in “very advanced talks” over the film.

Coleen and Rebekah’s libel trial in the High Court is expected to kick off next summer.

Rebekah, 39, launched legal action against Coleen last year, after she publicly accused her of leaking stories to the press.

In October 2019, the wife of Wayne Rooney claimed she planted false information on her private Instagram page and blocked everyone from her story – except Rebekah’s account.

The mother-of-four said stories about her basement flooding, returning to TV, and gender selection were only viewed by Rebekah’s account – and the false stories all made it into the press.

Coleen believed this was proof that the fellow WAG allegedly sold stories about her private life, but Rebekah has vehemently denied her claims.

Taking to Instagram at the time, Coleen wrote: “For a few years now someone who I trusted to follow me on my personal Instagram account has been consistently informing The Sun newspaper of my private posts and stories.”

“I have saved and screenshotted all the original stories which clearly show just one person has viewed them.”

“It’s ……………. Rebekah Vardy’s account,” she added.

Goss.ie has contacted Coleen’s rep for a comment.
