Voice of Ireland singer Kelly McDonagh Mongan has revealed she was banned from pubs, despite singing on the talent show every week.
Kelly, who is now starring in RTE 2 reality show Meet The McDonagh’s, said she and her husband were refused into a pub, because they lived in a caravan.
“We went out one night and every pub we tried in the town refused us from the door,” she said.

“I was dying with shame because everyone knew me and I was saying to them, ‘As much as I’m known by ye,’ I said, ‘I’m still not let in that door because I’m a Traveller.’
“You’re a Traveller and that’s it,” she explained.
Speaking to the Irish Sun, Kelly added that she is still living in a caravan in Galway, and that she’s hoping to get somewhere better for her daughter Bernie.

“I’m still living here in Galway, still in the same caravan outside the barrier of a halting site,” she said.
“I’m waiting a year and a half for a place off the council. It’s a lot harder now because Bernie’s getting bigger.”
Meet The McDonaghs is on RTE2 at 9.30pm tonight.
