Tom Vaughan Lawlor admits Nidge is in line to be KILLED off in upcoming Love/Hate season

Love/Hate star Tom Vaughan Lawlor has revealed his character Nidge could be getting the bullet this season.

The RTE actor insisted that just because he is the biggest name in the show, it doesn’t mean he’s safe.

Instead, he admitted could be killed off by show creator Stuart Carolan like Aidan Gillen’s John Boy.

And Tom revealed he has to “work [his] arse off to stay in the show” – just like every other actor on the show.

Fear: Tom never is certain he won’t be killed off

“When scripts come through the door you never know who is going to get it. It keeps it lively. So you can’t count your chickens.

“We’re at Stuart’s mercy when it comes to where the characters are going and in what journey he wants the show to go on.

“We’re all in a situation where any of us could go at any minute. So it keeps it interesting and keeps you on your toes because you want to work your arse off to stay in the show.”

But Tom insisted that there will be better luck for Nidge in the upcoming fifth season.

IFTA winner: But that doesn’t mean he’ll be back for season six

“The only way is up for him, really. He took a huge hit with the end of the fourth series with the police busting him and he lost this huge investment and he needs to get back in the game,” he told TV Now.

“His depression is haunting him with the ghosts in his life. He’s kind of in one sense come through that. Now he’s about getting back in the game and being number one again, sitting at the top table.”
