Susan Loughnane can finally watch Love/Hate after being killed off – as she fears seeing self

Former Love/Hate star Susan Loughnane has admitted she finally feels she can watch the drama – now she’s been killed off.

The TV actress admitted she hated watching the RTE series when she was in it, because she always feel her expressions “look so stupid”.

She said: “When I was in it, I was less excited to watch it because I was always scared of seeing my own face pop up.

“I hate watching myself, seeing my own expressions: Why did I glance at him that way, it looks so stupid.

“And you criticise every little blink you do on screen so it’s horrible watching yourself so I just try and avoid it.

“So if you’re a big fan of something you’re in, it’s really hard because you really want to watch it but you’re thinking, ‘When is my scene coming up?'”

Now Susan feels it will be a “much more enjoyable process” to watch the series as a fan.

“I love the gang, they’re all my mates and great actors and I can’t wait to text them and be like, ‘Ah, can’t believe that happened!’ Or, ‘You were brilliant’,” she told U Magazine.

Earlier this month, Susan launched her first novel – but the star insists she has no plans for what is next.

She added: “While I’m young I’m going to go where life takes me. I don’t really plan, I sometimes make very tentative plans but it usually works out.

“You can’t really stress out too much about when things are happening. If I did that I’d be so panicked all the time.

“The way things are with everything, ‘Should I have a family by this age?’ ‘Should I be married by this age?’

“Oh man, if I start thinking like that it’ll just stress me out. I’ll just let it happen.”
