Scott van-der-Sluis dumped from Love Island USA – just one week after entering the villa

Scott van-der-Sluis has been dumped from Love Island USA.

The former Shelbourne F.C. goalkeeper appeared on the UK version of the series earlier this summer, but failed to find love in Mallorca.

Just weeks after he wrapped filming the ITV2 show, Scott shocked fans by entering the Love Island USA villa in Fiji.

During his one-week stint in the Love Island USA villa, Scott struck up a romance with Johnnie Olivia.

The couple were dumped from the show after the public voted for their favourite couples.

Upon their exit, Johnnie said: “Leaving together feels relieving, because I came in here to find a person – my person, and I feel like I made such a great connection. We’ll see where it goes.”

Meanwhile, Scott said: “My time in the villa was short, sweet, but worthwhile. I’m excited to see how the connection with this one goes. I like being around her.”

While fans were excited to see Scott return to our screens again, some weren’t happy about his decision to re-enter Love Island.

The 22-year-old was branded a “game player”, as fans questioned whether he knew about his stint on Love Island USA while he was filming the UK version.

Scott also received backlash from fans who were shipping him and Catherine Agbaje.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a brief romance with Irish contestant Catherine on Love Island UK this summer, and they appeared to reconcile after leaving the villa.

While fans hoped to see them back together, those hopes were dashed when Scott joined Love Island USA as a bombshell last week.

Amid the backlash surrounding his return to Love Island, a spokesperson for Scott has confirmed he was asked to appear on the US version just days after he was dumped from the UK villa.

During a Q&A on Scott’s Instagram, they wrote: “There’s been a lot of rumours circulating, but Scott got asked a few days after leaving the UK villa and had to make a decision within 24 hours so by the time of the re-union it was signed, sealed and all other islanders were aware and supportive of his decision.”
