Red Rock's Adam Weafer: 'I landed my part in the show thanks to Facebook'

Red Rock star Adam Weafer has revealed he has Facebook to thank for his new soap role.

The 24-year-old from Cabinteely in Dublin had finished his training at the Irish Film Academy when he hit a crossroads.

“I had saved up the money to do the Irish Film Academy course for six months, anyone can do it.

“After coming out of that, I went to work in the bank to save up some money – I was thinking of going to London to pursue acting,” he said to Goss.ie.

But the bank wasn’t meant to be for the soap star when he found his way back to acting after seeing an ad on social media.

“I was working in the bank for a month and then I was scrolling through Facebook and I saw an ad for an open casting.

“I was the only person who came through that process, everyone else came through agents,” the handsome actor admitted.

Speaking exclusively to Goss.ie at Ouzo’s Stars in Your Pies event, Red Rock’s resident Romeo admitted he’s starting to get notice when he goes out.

“It’s only recently started happening a lot, I think me and David Hennessey have a similar style.

“A lot of characters go off set and they have completely different styles and it shows what great actors they are obviously but there’s a lot of David in me so it’s happened a few times,” he smiled.
