EXCLUSIVE: Love/Hate's real life cop Kieran O'Reilly lands MOVIE role after starring in show

Love/Hate’s real life Garda Kieran O’Reilly could be leaving the force – after seeing his acting work boosted by the show.

The TV star – who plays Detective Ciaran Madden – told Goss.ie that his role in the RTE drama has helped him land other parts already.

He said: “I’ve got a few more parts now. I’ve got one or two little offers. I’m doing a short film soon, it’s all very exciting,” he said.

Last year, Kieran made headlines after it was revealed he was a Garda in real life as well as playing one on screen.

He saw himself facing the threat of being sacked but colleagues – including Tom Vaughan Lawlor – insisted he could be a full-time actor if he was let go.

And Kieran is clearly loving being back on the Love/Hate set – insisting season five of the gangland drama will be the best to date.

“I’m very excited for the show to come out. It was great to be brought back,” he told Goss.ie.

Excited Kieran admittedhe’s read the entire script for the new season and knows the entire storyline – but said his friends and family know better not to ask.

“I get to read all the scripts. I’ve one or two secrets,” he admitted. “But I think they all know not to ask from last year, so not a hope.”

Kieran moved from the Garda National Drug Unit to the Garda National Immigration Bureau in January after his Love/Hate role initially angered bosses.
