Original TOWIE star confirms she’s returning to the show

The reality star quit the show back in 2016

Jess Wright has confirmed she’s returning to The Only Way Is Essex for the show’s 10th anniversary.

In photos published by MailOnline, the 34-year-old and her mother Carol were snapped filming scenes for TOWIE’s upcoming anniversary series.

Some of the show’s most popular stars are returning for the reunion, including OG cast member Amy Childs.

Although Jess has agreed to take part, her brother Mark has reportedly turned down the chance to appear on the upcoming series.

The 33-year-old was an original cast member on the hit ITV show – starring alongside the likes of Gemma Collins, Joey Essex and Sam Faiers.

A source told The Sun: “He’s said he’s in a different part of his life now and doesn’t want to go back to TOWIE again.”

“It’s a shame as Mark has clearly forgotten his roots. The show made him who he is and he wouldn’t have had all of his work gigs, like his radio show, without TOWIE putting him on the map.”

“ITV bosses have got the real king of Essex back though – Joey Essex -so they aren’t losing any sleep over Mark’s decision.”

“They hope Mark will be the only former castmate who has refused to take part,” the insider added.

The news comes after Sam Faiers recently revealed she “won’t be getting involved” in the show’s anniversary series.

“It’s like I’m at a completely different stage in my life now,” she told The Sun, “I don’t even know what I would do on there any more.”

“I’ve got my own life with my kids, and TOWIE is ten years ago for me. You just can’t compare my life then to my life now.”

“If someone had said to me back then, in ten years, you’re going to have your own long-running TV show and loads of lucrative endorsements, I would have just laughed and said, ‘Yeah right!’”

Sam added: “Obviously ten years ago, when I first started TV, I was only 19 so it was fun, I had nothing to lose. It was a bit of an experience, I suppose.”

“Being on The Only Way Is Essex was my first big thing I’d ever done and it was so successful and so great but if someone had told me when I was 19 that ten years later I’d be living the life I am now …”

“Now, I look back and think, ‘I did have the best time ever’, but I was quite smart and clever with jobs, in terms of investments and buying my first house and stuff like that.”
