Love/Hate star Tom Vaughan Lawlor may have been blasted from our screens – but his gran is now making her TV debut.
Kathleen ‘Lally’ Lawlor will be part of a show presented by Pat Kenny to launch UTV Ireland on New Year’s Day.
However her son – also called Tom – said that Love/Hate wouldn’t be her thing at all, even though he also made a cameo as a priest.
He said: “She has seen clips but didn’t watch it all, as it wouldn’t really be her thing.”

The 99-year-old – who will celebrate her 100th birthday on March 28 – will talk about her time growing up in Ireland.
Born in 1915, one of her earliest memories was discovering the death of Michael Collins in August, 1922 – as well as moving to Tralee in the 30s.
And her son Tom told the Herald: “She even brought up memories she hadn’t shared with me before.
“She could remember hearing that Michael Collins had been shot and her abiding mem- ories of arriving in Tralee in the 1930s was the number of donkeys and carts everywhere and the smell of turf fires.”
