One Direction star Niall Horan has offered himself up as a mentor to Irish X Factor finalist Chris Leonard.
The Mullingar man met up with the Meath teen at the X Factor studios this weekend, where his boyband Stereo Kicks flew threw to the second round.
The 1D lad posed with Chris backstage, posting online: “Just ran into the only other Irish guy to be in my position right now, such a nice dude thanks Niall.”

And insiders revealed that Niall offered him a number of tips on surviving in X Factor and dealing with the fame – even giving him his mobile number.
A source told Goss.ie: “Niall is a good lad, and he really wants his fellow countryman to do as well in the X Factor as he did.
“He offered him a number of tips on how to survive the competition, and passed on his mobile number – telling Chris to stay in touch as the show goes on.”
However they aren’t total strangers, as Chris’ former boyband 5th Base performed at Niall’s 19th birthday party in Mullingar.

Meanwhile Chris has admitted he was proud to be flying the flag for Ireland in the competition – just like Niall.
He said: “I feel very proud and very honoured that I’m flying the flag for Ireland.
“The last person to be in my exact situation was Niall Horan and I just hope that I can do as good a job.”
