Mrs Brown’s Boys won’t be returning for a full series, the BBC has confirmed.
Despite creator Brendan O’Carroll claiming he won’t give up on the show – it looks to be confined to Christmas specials.
BBC comedy controller Shane Allen said that the Dubliner is too busy now and it would be “hard to get another series” of show.
But he added that he has spoke to Brendan about a series of other projects and that Brendan “wants to stay on with the BBC”.

Mrs Brown’s Boys will be back for two specials on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and two more Xmas episodes will air next year.
Recently his son Danny said that Mrs Brown is set to hang up her boots.
Danny – who plays Buster Brady in the show – said: “As far as I know, he said he’s not doing any more series and he’s not doing any more D’Movies.”
He added: “Dad likes to take time off. He always says he doesn’t judge success by money. He judges it by the time you can get off and spend with your grandkids and kids.”
