Mrs Brown’s Boys star Rory Cowan has revealed he turned down €300,000 to star in a UK panto.
The Dublin actor was offered five weeks work alongside legendary actress Joan Collins.
But Rory – known for his role playing Mrs Brown’s gay son – refused the offer after he “fell around the place laughing” at the money on the table.
He said: “I thought what type of a business is this? You could be working away for years and you couldn’t give yourself away free with a packet of Daz.

“And next thing something like Mrs Brown hits big on television. If it was just for money, I would have done it but that didn’t suit me being stuck over there for five weeks at Christmas time.
“I like to come home because I have family here, my mother is here and I wanted to come home for that.”
Now Rory will be making his panto debut next month in Cinderella, playing the wicked step-sister, Barby, in Dublin’s Tivoli Theatre.
