Moone Boy will be back – as Chris O'Dowd blasts claims comedy is set to end

Chris O’Dowd has hit back at claims that the the upcoming series of Moone Boy is to be the last ever.

The Hollywood star’s programme will be airing its third season in coming months.

And Norma Sheahan – who plays Mrs Moone’s best friend Linda – has claimed there won’t be any more apart from a Christmas special or movie.

But Chris told Goss.ie that the show isn’t finished at all – leaving fans massively relieved. Asked if it was ending, he told us: “No, it’s not.”

Cast member Norma had said she thought it would only return as an Xmas special.

“They have three series in the bag, and as I understand, they won’t do another one,” she said.

“Chris isn’t available, and sometimes when something is good, why flog the arse out of it? A Christmas special or a movie is the most he would do.”

And Norma said the wrap party of the final series was extremely emotional knowing it would be the last time they’d see each other.

“Everyone loved doing it. At the end of filming, it was sad especially for the kids, it was so special for them,” she told the Star.
