Love/Hate star Kieran O’Reilly has revealed he ended up with mouth ulcers on his first day filming the show.
The Garda, 35, was made smoke 14 ‘rollie’ cigarettes for his first ever scene – with the RTE prop giving him a series of blisters.
He said: “My first scene was pretending to be an addict and they wanted me to smoke cigarettes as part of the scene but I ended up with ulcers.”

And Det O’Reilly told the Irish Sun there was a lot of “sadness” when filming season five ended.
He said: “Once filming ended there was a type of come down period for everyone and you have to readjust yourself.”
He added: “I will also never forget seeing Tom Vaughan-Lawlor having his hair cut on my first day on set and when I said to him ‘I’m going to get you Nidge’ he just gave me this baffled look.”
It comes as Kieran is set to take on the charts with his indie band Hail The Ghost, when they release their second single in the New Year.
