Irish gangland drama Love/Hate has been described as more “addictive than the World Cup” in a UK review.
The Guardian newspaper reviewed the first season, which aired on Channel 5 this year.
The reviewer asks how “Love/Hate, one of Ireland’s biggest current dramas…failed to create real waves here.”
Adding that the show has an “addictive plot”, the paper said the series written by Stuart Carolan is “truly radical”.
And the highly regarded UK newspaper stated that the series is more than just a gang drama.
“Love/Hate isn’t just another gang drama but rather a detailed, dark portrayal of a city in crisis.
“Gun violence remains a major concern in Dublin; its most popular drama repeatedly shows you why.”
