Love Island stars join plea to stop trolling the show’s contestants after Jacques’s shock departure

A host of Love Island stars are calling on viewers to stop trolling the show’s contestants.

Following Jacques O’Neill emotional departure from the villa on Tuesday, a fan account for the hit dating show reminded people to “be nice” and consider the consequences of their words.

The Instagram account, @loveislandstoryonly, pleaded: “🚨 PLEASE READ THIS 🚨 Every single year of Love Island, we see Islanders struggling with their mental health. Mental health is a very serious topic and unfortunately for some people they struggle with this for a long time!”

“What I am asking for you to do is just please please think before you write and send a message to anyone, not just an Islander but on this occasion an ISLANDER! WOULD YOU WANT TO RECEIVE HATE MESSAGES?”

“Please also remember that each of the Islanders have loved ones watching the show like we do, the only difference is that they know the person inside and out!”

“How do you think it will make the Islanders feel seeing hate shown towards them?????”

“PLEASE, AND I ASK THIS NICELY, JUST PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU SEND MESSAGES AND BE NICE TO OTHERS ❤️.”

Casa Amor bombshells Mollie Salmon, Jazmine Nichol, George Tasker, Samuel Agbiji have all re-shared the heartfelt message to their Instagram stories.

Jacques’s social media accounts, which are being run by his friend, have been flooded with cruel comments following his Casa Amor antics.

The 23-year-old had been happily loved-up with Paige Thorne before Casa, but their romance hit the rocks after bombshell Cheyanne Kerr revealed she had a connection with Jacques during Casa Amor.

Paige was left heartbroken, and she became even more upset when Jacques tried to excuse his actions by reminding her they were both still “single” at the end of the day.

After Jacques did some grovelling, Paige finally forgave him and allowed him back into her bed on Monday night, but viewers continued to troll him online over his actions.

On Tuesday’s episode of Love Island, the 23-year-old broke down in tears as he revealed to Paige that he was leaving the villa because he hadn’t been feeling like himself recently.

The rugby player also told his fellow Islanders: “I’m not going to start faking things and act like I’m okay when things inside aren’t actually okay, so I’m going to be leaving today.”

“I just can’t stay around and not be myself, it’s not fair to me and it’s definitely not fair to Paige.”
