Love Island host Maya Jama has revealed she was close to tears during Wednesday night’s dramatic Casa Amor recoupling.
The TV presenter has also admitted viewers missed out on some “unseen” moments that didn’t make it to air.
The recoupling caused plenty of heartbreak, as four Islanders were left single after their partners decided to couple up with a new girl/boy.
Just days ago, the OG girls snuck out of the villa to Casa Amor to meet six hunky new bombshells – Kodie Murphy, Ouzy See, Zachary Ashford, Elom Ahlijah-Wilson, Lochan Nowaki and Benjamin Noel.
Meanwhile, the OG boys that were left in the villa were joined by six gorgeous new girls – Danielle Mazhindu, Amber Wise, Gabby Jeffery, Abi Moores, Tink Reading, and of course, returning Islander Molly Marsh.
After spending days getting to know the new arrivals, the Islanders were faced with the infamous Casa Amor recoupling during Wednesday’s episode.
During the recoupling, single Islander Sammy chose to couple up with Amber, while Whitney brought Lochan back to the main villa.
Zachariah recoupled with Molly after she made her shock return to the villa, leaving Kady single.
Montel and Leah remained loyal to one another; however, Casa Amor bombshell Tink revealed she and Montel hadn’t kept things “PG” while she was away.
Scott decided to remain loyal to Catherine; however, she returned to the main villa with Elom – leaving him fuming.
Meanwhile, Mitchel coupled up with new bombshell Abi, after forming a connection during Casa Amor.
Jess remained single after Mitchel decided to recouple, hoping that Sammy had also remained single.
The pair had grown close before they were split up during Casa Amor, and Jess was clearly disappointed to see he had coupled up with one of the new girls.
Then in the most heartbreaking moment of the episode, Tyrique chose to remain loyal to Ella; however, she returned to the main villa with Ouzy.
The semi-pro footballer was devastated over her decision, and dramatically told her they were “done”.
It’s safe to say viewers were on the edge of their seats for the recoupling, leading fans to question how Maya keeps a straight face during filming.
After a fan tweeted, “Idk how @MayaJama didn’t laugh throughout this whole recoupling OMG,” the host replied, “Il be real there was some unseen laughs but the drama had to be kept up 🫡😂 also could have shed a tear at the end.”
Another fan also tweeted, “How do you keep a straight face! I would have gasped, jaw dropped and had eyes bugging out!”
Maya responded: “Trust me I feel you! you don’t see all my reactions.”
