Louis Walsh has admitted he knows he makes a “twat” of himself on TV, but said: “That’s what I’m like in real life.”
The X Factor judge says he is unable to hide his emotions on the ITV series – especially during the six chair challenge.
The 62-year-old said he tried to pretend he wasn’t on a TV show when picking which acts to bring to the finals with him.

He said: “There was a lot of pressure on me because I kept changing my mind! It’s a big arena you’re trying to concentrate in.
“You have to pretend you’re at home and it’s not a TV show and that’s what I try to do.
“I know I make a twat of myself sometimes but that’s what I’m like in real life. I was just being me there.”
But Louis admits that the only reason he’s still on the X Factor panel is because Simon Cowell loves his mentalness.

“Simon likes the silliness of me and that’s why I’m there. I make him laugh. But I know I’m being silly, so I’m not silly if you know what I mean,” he told TV Now.
“He loves all my sayings, telling singers they remind me of a young Michael Buble and all that. Simon himself is good fun – but he’s a tough taskmaster and he always wants you to do better.”
