James Nesbitt ‘personally asked’ Elbow frontman to write new Cold Feet theme

James Nesbitt reportedly personally asked Elbow’s frontman Guy Garvey to pen the new theme song for ITV’s Cold Feet with I Am Kloots Peter Jobson.

The Antrim native originally starred on the show from 1998 to 2003 and is set to return to our screens later this year.

“James personally asked Guy and Peter to write a track just for the song,” a source revealed.

The actor wanted the song to be performed by two Manchester natives as the show is set in the Greater Manchester area.

“He wanted it to be performed by two Mancs and to possess a Manchester theme, as that’s where Cold Feet is set,” the source told The Sun.

“He’s obviously chuffed he’s pulled off both targets.”

Executive producer of the show Kenton Allen confirmed the musicians wrote a song for the show and admitted it’s great to have them on board.

“It’s great to give a nod to the rich musical heritage of Manchester with Guy and Pete’s beautiful new composition,” he said to the newspaper.

Cold Feet is set to return to our screens in September on ITV.
