ITV have apologised to Ferne McCann after using a picture of her baby girl Sunday during an ITV News segment about cot death.

Last month, The Sun reported that Ferne was left “shocked and upset” after discovering that ITV used the image without her knowledge or consent.

The image used was the one Ferne posted on Instagram when she announced the birth of her baby girl, Sunday, back in November.

The picture, which doesn’t show Sunday’s face, was used during a lunchtime news programme on ITV during a report about the results of a cot death study.

A spokesperson for ITV has since told Digital Spy, “ITV News took swift action as soon as we were notified by Ferne’s team of the error. We’re sorry if any upset was caused to Ferne and her family.”

The former TOWIE star announced her pregnancy last April, just days after her now ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins was arrested for throwing acid in a nightclub in London.

Arthur has since been sentenced to 20 years in prison, and Ferne is now being forced to bring her daughter to visit him in jail.
