Twitter blew up during an episode of RTE’s latest Reality Bites.
Paying For Sex aired on RTE 2, and followed the debate about decriminalizing prostitution in Ireland.
The show spoke to people from both sides of the argument, including sex workers, and most people tuning in supported making prostitution legal – for the safety of the women working in the industry.
RTE followed sex worker Kate McGrew (previously seen in Connected) and prostitution survivor Rachel Moran as they campaigned tirelessly on opposing sides.
Take a look at how people reacted:
Full decriminalisation of sex work needs to happen so people can unionise, be safe and not live in fear #payingforsex

In the end, Rachel Moran doesn’t speak for those of us who were over 18, and worked on street to feed our children. #payingforsex

I’m firmly on the regulation side of this debate. #payingforsex

I honestly think it’s insane that two consenting adults exchanging money for sex is taboo & illegal. Bodily integrity, y’all. #PayingForSex

I used to be in the ‘criminalise sex buyers’ camp. Then I spoke to actual sex workers and did some reading up myself #payingforsex

NZ model does not empower women. Full decriminalisation includes legalising pimping too & gives them the power instead #payingforsex
