The Fall star Gerard McCarthy has revealed that he would love to appear on Love/Hate – and it’s all down to his mum.
The Belfast native hopes to star alongside the lawless bunch on the hit RTE show in the near future.

“I’ve been hearing a lot about Love/Hate. My mum is a fan and has actually been telling me to watch it,” he said.
But Gerard insisted that he wouldn’t go for just any character – he would have to have a main part.
“I would consider any role because I normally choose roles based on the script and what I can bring to a character,” he told the Star.
“Every actor wants to work in the big shows but they also want to make their mark in some way by developing their own character.”

Gerard is best known for his role as a lawyer in The Fall and has previously appeared in the soap Hollyoaks.
He has also played a Black and Tan captain in A Nightingale Falling which is currently in cinemas nationwide.
