First Dates Ireland star avoids jail in harassment case

First Dates star Daphney Sanasie has avoided jail following her harassment case.

The model pleaded guilty to harassing celebrity chef Dylan McGrath last month.

However, the judge claimed that the restaurant owner “gave mixed signals” to the reality star.

The student claimed that she first met Dylan through a mutual friend in 2014 and went on two “dates” with him before relations turned sour.

But the restaurateur complained to gardaí that she had bombarded him with unwanted text messages and nuisance phonecalls, following their two dates, that left him in fear.

Judge Michael Walsh pointed to messages the former TV3 star sent to Daphney in summer 2015 that said, “What’s wrong darling. I’m having dinner at a conference in Spain,” and “I love that coat in your photo,” according to the Irish Daily Mail.

Shortly after the relationship supposedly “took a nasty turn'”when Mr McGrath sent Ms Sanasie a message that was “impolite to say the least, unacceptable in most people’s eyes and hurtful to say the least to Ms Sanasie.”

At the end of the ordeal, Daphney was ordered yesterday to “at all times stay away from” Dylan and never to turn up at his home or business premises – as a result, she avoids a criminal record.
