Everyone is saying the same thing about Netflix’s new series Wednesday

Netflix’s highly anticipated new series Wednesday premiered on Wednesday, November 23.

The show centres around Tim Burton’s iconic character Wednesday Addams of the Addams Family.

The titular character is portrayed by Jenny Ortega, who is well-known for her role as Ellie Alvez in the second season of Netflix’s You.

Catherina-Zeta Jones stars as Morticia Addams, Wednesday’s mother, and Luis Guzmán plays Gomez Addams, Wednesday’s father.

Meanwhile Isaac Ordonez plays Pugsley Addams, Wednesday’s younger brother.

Other iconic characters from the beloved Addams Family appear throughout the series – including Uncle Fester, Thing and Lurch.

After the show debuted on Netflix, viewers flocked to Twitter to express their delight with the casting – in particular that of Jenna as Wednesday.

One Twitter user wrote: “Jenna Ortega needs to be added up to the books as iconic Wednesdays immediately,” and a second said: I didn’t know I needed Jenna Ortega dancing as Wednesday Addams until now! 🫶🏼.”

A third tweeted: “I have a serious crush on Jenna Ortega and her casting as Wednesday Adams is one of the greatest castings in history. She’s perfect,” and a fourth wrote: #wednesdaynetflix is so good. Jenna Ortega is perfect in this role. It’s dark, funny and has enough mystery to keep me interested. Loving it as much as I knew I would.”
