The 2022 National Television Awards took place at London’s OVO Arena in Wembley on Thursday night.
Comedian Joel Dommett hosted the awards show for the second time, after taking over from David Walliams last year.
The NTAs, which are voted for by the general public, were shown on ITV.
Viewers have since taken to Twitter to complain that most of the NTAs were swept up by ITV.
One Twitter user wrote: “If there was an award at the #NTAs for the best TV channel I’m fairly sure the winning order would run like this…#1 ITV, #2 ITV2, #3 ITV4 #4 CITV, #5 Everyone else #shameful #ItsAScam,” while a second said: “I may be a bit slow, and I joined watching late but have ITV shows and their actors/presenters won all the awards tonight bar Gogglebox?”
A third wrote: “Trigger Point (ITV), Coronation Street (ITV), NTAs (ITV). That’s all,” and a fourth said: “Another ITV winner. Rigged.”
Absolutely no way one of the Heartstopper lads did not win that award …the popularity of the show!
