Colin Farrell on True Detective role: 'It's at such a high standard, of course I'm nervous'

He’s already a Hollywood A-lister but Colin Farrell has admitted he is nervous about his new role in True Detective.

The award winning show already stars Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, but now Colin will join Vince Vaughn in season two.

“The standard is so high. The bar has been raised so high from the first season,” he said.

“People will compare it, of course, but it’s a stand-alone world in itself. The eight episodes have nothing, bar the creator, to do with the first season.”

Hit: Matthew and Woody were fantastic in season one

Speaking to the Sunday World, Colin said he will be nervous playing a role in such a hit show.

“I’ll be as nervous as I was with other role, but not as a result of doing television or anything like that.”

It has also been revealed that The Notebook actress Rachel McAdams will join the show, and is rumoured to be Colin’s leading lady in the new series.
