Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh took advice on Botox – and the doctor said she needed a LOT

Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh has revealed she has started to worry about getting older – and even took advice from a doctor about where she should get botox.

The TV star admitted she asked her doctor to recommend the areas of her face that were in need of a little rejuvenation  and was horrified when she saw his pencil marks scrawled all over her face.

She said: “I wont lie – I did take advice on Botox. A mirror was put in front of me, and with a white pencil the doctor recommended where I should get the injections, but sure when I looked in the mirror my face was nothing but white pencil marks!

“And I thought ‘ah, here!’ Instead I went and got my teeth bleached and I started working out. And the working out gave me a buzz and made me feel better. So that’s how I fought it – exercise and white teeth!”

The presenter also admitted that when it comes to sharing her feelings, sometimes she can get a little carried away.

“I can get down, and when I get down the world is a very dark place. I see the signs and I am very aware. And I talk to everyone and anyone. In fact, I over-share,” she said.

“My husband says I talk to too many people and that it’s not helpful…I don’t know. I cannot hide my emotions, if I’m angry, you’ll steer clear!”

Blathnaid also opened up about motherhood and revealed she is “very strict” with her four kids.

“I am very strict. I am forever checking in. I know all the parents in their network. I can’t protect my kids from bullying online or off-line if I don’t know their network of friends.”

“I fill their lives with extracurricular activities because I think if you get idle when you’re 12 or 13, that’s when you do things that get you in to trouble,” she told VIP Magazine.

Having a strong opinion is important to the Dublin native who has reared her children to have the same values.

“I have reared them to have their opinion no matter what, but as a result it’s a very loud house. When we all start arguing, the Gaza Strip has nothing on us!”
