Bear Grylls wants to take Bono into the wilderness

Bear Grylls has revealed that he wants to take Bono into the wilderness next.

The 42-year-old has most recently brought Courtney Cox trekking across the rough Irish terrain in Co. Kerry – and now Bear is hoping to give U2 frontman Bono a run for his money.

“I would love to take Bono,” he told the Herald.

The survivalist also revealed that they usually tend to get very famous, but slightly aloof, celebrities for his show Running Wild.

“We always try and take people that everyone knows, but don’t really know.

“That’s the key for our Running Wild shows – famous people, but with an enigma.

“Everyone knows Obama but no one knows what he’s going to be like climbing up and down a mountain. I think Bono would be cool,” he said.

Bono isn’t the only Irish man Bear wants to book – as he also has his sights set on Cork man Graham Norton.

“Graham Norton would be a good one for an ITV2 show,” he admitted.

Bear, who is originally from Co. Down, also revealed his excitement for his upcoming tour Endeavour, which will land in Dublin’s 3Arena on October 19.

“One of the reasons that I’m excited to come to Ireland is that it’s such a big part of my family’s life for generations. I left when I was about four, but it’s amazing to go back and we still have so many good friends there.

“On our tours, we’ve got to do Belfast, and one of my best buddies in life is from Dublin. He’s been saying from the start, ‘Whatever you do, you have to come to Dublin’,” he added.
