The BBC have announced the Strictly Come Dancing 2023 couples’ first dance routines.

The popular BBC series kicked off last Saturday night, with a pre-recorded launch episode that saw 15 celebrities being paired with their pro dancers.

All 15 couples will take to the dancefloor tonight, to show off their skills in a bid to make a good first impression on both the audience and the judges.

Four couples are set to dance the upbeat Cha Cha, which is of Cuban origin.

Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington will dance to Get The Part Started by Shirley Bassey, Annabel Croft and Johannes Radebe will dance to Uptown Girl by Billy Joel, Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk will dance to Waffle House by the Jonas Brothers.

Meanwhile, Zara McDermott and Graziano Di Prima will dance to Crush by Jennifer Paige, and Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Lauren Oakley will dance to Boom-Shak-A-Lak by Apache Indian.

Two couples will dance the lively and fun Quickstep.

Jody Cundy and Jowita Przystal will dance to I’m Sitting On Top Of The World by Bobby Darin, while Eddie Kadi and Karen Hauer will dance to Two Hearts by Phil Collins.

Two couples will dance the Tango, which originated along the natural border between Argentina and Uruguay.

Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu will dance to Prisoner by Miley Cyrus ft. Dua Lipa, while Les Dennis and Nancy Xu will dance to Don’t You Want Me by Human League.

One couple will dance the fan-favourite Jive, which originated in the United States: Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola to Can’t Tame Her by Zara Larsson.

One couple will take the Samba to the dancefloor on Saturday night: Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin to Touch by Little Mix.

Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell will dance the Foxtrot to All About You by McFly.

Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice will dance the Viennese Waltz to Pointless by Lewis Capaldi.

Nikita Kanda and Gorka Marquez will dance the Waltz to Run To You by Whitney Houston.

The final couple, Nigel Harman and Katja Jones are set to take the Paso Doble to the dancefloor on Saturday night. They will dance to Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana.
