Love/Hate star Aoibhinn McGinnity has told how she can’t wait to spend Christmas on the stage.
The TV actress will be swapping her life of gangland crime for a green costume and pointy ears to take on Elf The Musical.
And Aoibhinn, 28, is especially happy about being able to go back to her musical theatre roots.

“I trained in musical theatre. It’s nice to be able to go back and put myself to the test because I learned all the tricks of the trade when I was younger,” she said.
“And then I came out of college and just did straight acting. This show is bigger and it’s really exciting.
“It’s definitely going to be a challenge but I’m very much looking forward to it. The fact that the show is coming from Broadway is just phenomenal, and I can’t wait to spend Christmas on the stage.”

However Aoibhinn, who is best known for playing Trish, insists she doesn’t have a preference between TV and the stage.
“I think it’s good to be able to try both,” she told Star Chic. “They’re different energies, one is like short bursts and then you have a break and then with theatre you build up towards doing nightly shows.”
