Krishnan Guru-Murthy is the fourth celebrity to be confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2023.
The 53-year-old is the lead presenter of Channel 4 News.
When asked by host Claudia Winkleman why he wanted to sign up for the BBC dancing contest, the journalist said: “You only live once. I’m here for the joy for the fun. I love my job, I speak to amazing people and go to incredible places. But this was just irresistible.”

“I told my wife first and she said definitely do it,” Krishnan continued. “I have an 18-year-old daughter who said it is a great idea but my 16-year-old son is appalled.”
“I haven’t been an avid viewer because I’m either working or on the way home but when Bill Bailey did it I thought he was amazing!”
Speaking about his concerns, he added: “I’m slightly worried about my health, I’m not that fit I’m slightly overweight and I have a heart condition.”
Actress Amanda Abbington, TV presenter Angela Rippon and actor Layton Williams have all been confirmed for the 2023 line-up.
