Downton Abbey star Allen Leech has told how an Irish passport control officer blasted him for running off from his pregnant on-screen wife.
The Dubliner revealed a Dublin airport worker was disgusted with him after his character Tom Branson had ran back to Ireland and left Lady Sybil on her own.
“The man at passport control took my passport at the gate, looked at the picture, looked at me, looked at my passport again and said ‘that’s was a pretty s****y thing you did to your wife’”

Meanwhile Allen, who is dating Sky Sports presenter Charlie Webster, explained how his character Tom has changed over the years.
“I think he is such a changed man from his circumstances that it would be impossible for him to go back to exactly the way he was.”
“I think he is not as naive as he was when he first arrived. He had a great line last year when he said ‘I now don’t believe in types, I believe in people.’”

“I think he has completely changed his outlook. He is still very strongly minded politically, but he couldn’t possibly go back to where he was.
“He was very strong in his views, but I think he is more educated now than he ever was,” he said.
