An ad model Roz Purcell featured in has been deemed “exploitative of sexuality” by the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland.
The Tipperary model showed off her stunning body in an online video for Newbridge Silverwear, but the ad has been removed after receiving just one complaint.
The two-minute video showed Roz in a revealing outfit, draped in jewellery from the brand’s eShe collection
After just one complaint, an independent complaints committee agreed.
Overtly sexual: Roz’s ad received a complaint for being too sexy
Speaking to Goss.ie, Roz said she was shocked by the decision to ban the ad.
“I was surprised. I watched the ad a few times since hearing the ban and I’m just really the background for the jewellery,” she said.
“No matter what you do it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I think the majority of people agree the video was done tastefully and is keeping with the times.”
Surprised: Roz thinks the ad was tasteful
In a statement the ASAI said that the committee “considered that the poses taken by the model were overtly sexual in nature and were therefore provocative”.
The ASAI pointed out two specific scenes, including one where Roz was wearing a black and orange silky kimono.
In another clip, the 24-year-old dips her finger into a cocktail and licks her finger.
The person behind the complaint concerned that Roz’s “poses, the facial expressions and the clothing” were too sexual.
