Ambitious: Store owner Fabio Molle

Dublin store Funky Christmas Jumpers have proven to be a hit with Irish celebrities – and now they are trying to get David Beckham on board.

The Irish brand, based on Dublin’s South William street, told Goss.ie that celebs love wearing their designs.

“Niall Horan tweeted out to 9 million people, he has fans all over the world so then the next year people bought off his back,” said co-owner Fabio Molle.

“Rory  McIlroy picked one…he will be picking that up in the next few weeks and he got some for his friends as well.”

Celebrities wearing their designs is nothing new for the brand with Ryan Tubridy  sporting them on the Late Late Toy Show for years.

“[Ryan] has the whole collection. I’d say in the RTE wardrobe they probably have more jumpers than we have.”

But the festive shop are hoping to bag David Beckham, as well as X Factor star Cheryl Fernandez Versini.

“Many jumpers have been sent out and the majority of them don’t hit. David Beckham is someone we are progressively working on,” Fabio told Goss.ie.

“We’re not in talks with him but we are trying to wiggle our way in there.”
