We finally know when Mrs Brown’s Boys is returning with a new series

We finally know when Mrs Brown’s Boys is returning to our TV screens.

The comedy show, which debuted in 2011, stars Brendan O’Carroll as Irish mammy Agnes Brown.

It last aired as a series in 2013 and since then, the show has only aired several specials.

For more than a decade, Mrs Brown’s Boys has been a staple on the BBC’s Christmas roster.

The public service broadcaster has since confirmed that they will air four new episodes of the hit TV show beginning on Friday, September 8.

Mrs Brown’s Boys is largely a family affair, as most of the cast are related in real life.

Brendan is married to Jennifer Gibney, who plays Agnes’ daughter Cathy in the series.

Buster Brady [Danny O’Carroll] and Maria Brown [Fiona O’Carroll] are Brendan’s real life son and daughter.

Winnie McGoogan [Eilish O’Carroll] is Brendan’s sister, while Trevor Brown [Martin Delany] and Betty Brown [Amanda Woods] are the actor’s off screen son-and-daughter-in-law.

Finally, Bono Brown [Jamie O’Carroll] is Brendan’s real life grandson.

Mrs Brown’s Boys has been nominated for the TV Choice Awards, IFTAs, BAFTAs and National Television Awards.
