WATCH: Jamie Dornan reveals ‘burden’ of 50 Shades franchise

Jamie Dornan has revealed being part of the 50 Shades franchise can be a ‘burden’ on his career.

The Belfast native plays Christian Grey in the film series and has become a household name thanks to his role, but admitted to being tied to the one character can be difficult.

“It certainly can [a burden],” he said.

The actor admitted that even though it’s a job that many people know him from, it still is just a job.

“You just have to see that as that’s just one job,” he told Eamon Holmes on This Morning.

“Granted that it’s a job that a majority of people know you from solely for that, especially in the States.

“It is to me – and I’d say any actor who’s involved in any franchise would say the same thing – it is another job.

“Then you sort of move on to the next thing and play a different character, then it becomes about that.”

The 43-year-old also revealed that he has never taken a single acting class.

“Not really, no. If I was ever in L.A. in the early years I would go to a class there,” he told Eamon Holmes and on This Morning.

“I do think it’s an instinctual craft.

“I didn’t grow up thinking I wanted to be an actor.”

“It’s the most magical thing in the world.

“When she wakes up she just wants to see the baby instantly,” he added.

“I’m a young father and I want to spend time with my kids.

“They come everywhere with me which we can afford to do at the moment before the kids start school.”
