Taylor Swift gives inspirational speech to her Irish fans

Taylor Swift dished out some words of wisdom to her Irish fans during her Dublin concert.

The Blank Space singer performed to two sold out crowds on 20 and 30 June at the 3Arena and left the attendees with an inspiring message that was caught on a YouTube video.

“Every single time I go online and talk to you and hear the things that you are going through, it occurs to me how incredibly difficult it has become to be happy with your life in 2015,” she said.

The Bad Blood superstar warned her fans about the dangers of comparing themselves to others they see online.

“One thing that happens to every single one of us is that we go online and have the ability to scroll through everyone else’s life highlights,” she said.

“And trust me, I love going online, I think it’s amazing but there’s also this darker side to it, where we go online and compare our lives to other people’s lives.”

“And the mistake we’re making is that when we scroll through the pictures that other people post online of their lives, you’re seeing the highlight reel of the most excellent, shiny, fabulous moments of their lives.”

Taylor explained to her devoted Irish fans that they shouldn’t worry about other people’s opinions and that as people – we are hardest on ourselves.

“When you look in the mirror at yourself, you’re seeing behind all the scenes, all the stuff that no-one else sees and you’re hearing your own securities, and you’re hearing the voices inside your head telling you that you might not be good enough.

“Or that you might not be cool as other people or what if you’re not having as much fun as those other people. Or what if you’re not special? It’s just endless.”

Fans: Taylor told her fans to never give up on their dreams

“I think people are really mean and I’ve learned that and you’ve learnt that but I think it’s time to realise that sometimes we are so much, so much more mean to ourselves than other people could ever be.”

“Here’s what you are actually not: you’re not somebody else’s opinion of you. You are not damaged goods if you made mistakes. And you are not going no-where just because you haven’t gotten to where you want to go yet.”
